Become a Promoter
Become a promoter and make a real difference
Essex on Tour worked with 41 promoters in the 06/07 season to present 54 shows in venues across Essex. That year, promoters raised over £3000 in profits between them, for village halls or local charities and over 4500 people saw an Essex on Tour performance.
How does it work
- We will come and meet you and your committee
if you have one, see the venue and discuss how the scheme works.
- Each
spring, Essex on Tour produces a menu of subsidised performances
for promoters to choose from.
- We host an evening event for Promoters
to enjoy and see a selection of the shows on offer to them - as
well as catching up with fellow promoters!
- When Promoters
have chosen an event, Essex on Tour makes all the contractual
arrangements for promoters and companies and will pay the company
after the performance.
- Promoters receive a marketing pack with
tickets, leaflets, posters and press information to help sell
the show.
- Essex on Tour produces a full tour leaflet of all the
shows in the season and this is distributed county wideAs an additional
safety net, we run a guarantee against loss scheme.
- We are always
available by phone for support and advice.
What does being a promoter involve?
The Promoter
- chooses a performance they like the look of
at a time that suits.
- gathers together a band of willing helpers.
- books the venue and ensures it is properly
licensed with the local council for the event.
- liaises directly with the performing company
regarding directions, hospitality or accommodation arrangements,
the time of the show and general performance details.
- markets the performance on a local level with
the leaflets and posters supplied. Sends out a press release
to local publications.
- acknowledges Essex on Tour verbally and visually
wherever possible.
- distributes audience evaluation forms at the
performance.
- completes feedback forms and returns them to
Essex on Tour within a week of the performance.
- pays Essex on Tour promptly after the performance
on receipt of an invoice.
